As a biologist, I have been studying honey bees for more than two decades. I started photography around 1984 when I bought my first Nikon FE, but did not really take a lot of photos until I started shooting digital around 1999. I bought a Nikon D70 March 2004, and D80 March 2007. My photos have been published as cover photos in highly regarded scientific journals such as Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Experimental Biology, and Genome Research, as illustration photos in prominent journals such as Science, Nature Reviews-Genetics, and Current Biology, and as cover photos in popular bee journals (American Bee Journal, and Bee Culture). I recent won a 2nd prize in an international
photography contest and also won 3rd prize and honorable mention at
a MSU photo contest.
I get requests for prints very often so that is why this site is up (please click "buy this photo" above each photo).
MSU news recently ran a news on this site.
